Witricity - WIRELESS POWER SUPPLY
WE HAD SEEN THIS IN SEED-D. BUT I CAN'T BELIEVE IT WILL COME TRUE.
We always knew Tesla was right: MIT physics professor Marin Soljacic and his team of researchers behind the latest wireless electricity scheme have reportedly demoed their magnetically coupled resonator technology on a 60-watt lightbulb that wasn't plugged in. Of course, no technology should be without a name, and so they've dubbed it WiTricity. Apparently Soljacic thinks it's possible to commercialize WiTricity within the next few years, which would be totally amazing if it was powered by Steorn's humanity-saving infinite energy device. What is Gundam Seed?
Directed by Mitsuo Fukuda (Future GPX Cyber Formula and Gear Fighter Dendoh) with music by Toshihiko Sahashi, the series is the first set in the Cosmic Era. This series begins with a war between Earth and the colonies that is similar to the One Year War of the original Gundam series with certain traditional elements from Mobile Suit Gundam Wing and After War Gundam X such as the presence of five multicolored gundam mobile suits and the threat of an apocalypse. On one side is the Earth Alliance, and on the opposite is the space colonies that form ZAFT (Zodiac Alliance of Freedom Treaty). Mankind is divided over human genetic engineering, with normal humans known as "Naturals" and the genetically altered humans known as "Coordinators". Like the original series, ZAFT has a head start on mobile suit design, the Earth Alliance quickly catches up with its five prototype Gundams. With ZAFT having stolen four of the prototypes, young pilot Kira Yamato takes the Strike Gundam and is forced to fight his old friend Athrun Zala. Little do they know that there are sinister forces at work that go far beyond their worst nightmares.

What are mobile fighters?
Mobile fighters are high-performance mobile suits controlled
via the Mobile Trace System, which mimics the movements of
the human operator. These machines were developed for use in
the Gundam Fight competitions which take place in G Gundam's
Future Century era. In addition to the Gundam mobile
fighters which participate in the tournament, the mysterious
Shuffle Alliance also uses its own team of unique mobile
fighters.

What are mobile dolls?
The mobile dolls seen in Gundam Wing are
computer-controlled mobile suits which do not require a
human pilot. Though they rely on human commanders to tell
them which enemy units to attack, mobile dolls are otherwise
fully capable of maneuvering, fighting, and executing
missions without human guidance. The first production model,
the OZ-12SMS Taurus, can also be operated by a human pilot,
but the later OZ-02MD Virgo doesn't even have a cockpit.
Though the term itself is used only in Gundam Wing's After
Colony world, machines similar to mobile dolls appear in
other series as well. The RX-78 Gundam of the original
series was equipped with a sophisticated computer which
learned from its pilot's actions, and ultimately proved
capable of fighting on its own. And in G-Saviour and Turn A
Gundam, we see unmanned mobile suits which function much
like Gundam Wing's mobile dolls.

What are mobile armors?
Mobile armors are non-humanoid vehicles based on mobile
suit technology. In the Universal Century series, these
machines are larger and more powerful than mobile suits, and
their greater size allows them to carry exotic weapons and
gadgetry. Later on, transformable mobile suits are
introduced, which can change into a "mobile armor form"
capable of high-speed flight.
The mobile armor term is also used to describe non-humanoid
vehicles, and transformed mobile suits, in other Gundam
worlds. However, the mobile armors featured in such recent
series as Gundam X and Gundam Seed are often no more
powerful than an average mobile suit - in fact, in the
latter case, the mobile armors used by the Earth forces are
just glorified space fighters which are no match for the
enemy's mobile suits.

What is Mobile Suit Gundam?
The original Mobile Suit Gundam was an animated science-fiction series which debuted on Japanese television in 1979. In this groundbreaking series, the traditional giant robots of Japanese anime were for the first time portrayed as realistic war machines instead of invincible superheroes. The people who used these machines to fight in a futuristic space war were complex characters whose motivations and beliefs didn't break down into simple good and evil, and the story encompassed human drama and social commentary as well as thrilling robot battles.
Mobile Suit Gundam's popularity led to a series of sequels and followups - first a three-part movie compilation, then a succession of new television serials, original videos, and theatrical films. After more than two decades, this Gundam saga has expanded to include nine television series, four video series, ten movies, and countless novels, comics, and original video game adventures. This saga encompasses six different worlds, each with its own unique history and society, and showcases the work of the most celebrated talents of the anime industry.
Although this saga's stories encompass centuries of future history and span several alternate worlds, they all share a single unifying element - the legendary line of fighting machines which bear the name of Gundam. From the prototype RX-78 Gundam featured in the original series, to the unique and colorful machines which star in later stories like G Gundam and Gundam Wing, all these stories recount the adventures of heroic Gundams and their brave pilots.
The Gundam saga made its North American debut in 1998, and in the following years Bandai Entertainment has continued to release new chapters of this epic saga. Meanwhile, Bandai America has produced a wide range of merchandise for Gundam fans young and old, including fully poseable action figures and a selection of the astonishing model kits for which Gundam is justly famous. As you explore this Web site, we hope you'll enjoy learning about this fascinating and ever-evolving saga.
